The Never Too Early training is an early literacy training program for childcare providers of children from birth to age six. Through these caregivers, NTE reaches Vermont’s youngest and most needy children, introducing them to books and reading, and preparing them to be ready for school and eager to learn. The NTE: Foundations of Early Literacy training provides effective strategies to promote literacy development in children. The training consists of two sessions of two hours each. Two hours of independent study is required between the sessions. Providers taking the training earn six hours of professional development credit and are provided a free set of children's books. A Vermont Humanities program.
