Never Too Early: Level I of Foundations of Educational Philosophy and Literacy Through Children’s Literature Deb Norris

This Never Too Early foundational literacy training offers participants the opportunity to deeply assess one’s own philosophy and current practice in general and in terms of literacy. This is a live virtual training in combination with classwork and homework in a Google Classroom. Topics include philosophy of education and review of current sources, the open questioning mindset in teaching and literacy, and book recommendations with discussion on curriculum implementation and enhancement. You will receive a free set of picture books, curriculum ideas, and much more! This is the Level I training, the prerequisite to Level II which will be offered in February 2025.

This six-hour Never Too Early: Level I Foundations of Literacy class will include: • reading and using picture books with children in your care • responding to and collaborating with other participants in the Google Classroom • completing literacy-based activities as assigned • participating in three Zoom sessions on Thursday, January 9, Thursday, January 16, and Thursday, January 23 from 6-7 PM
