How can we prevent and address the vicarious impact that is associated with working with children who are vulnerable and experiencing trauma? Reflective practice is critical for self-care and overall sustainability in helping/caregiving professions. Reflective practice and consultation are recommended as a model to prevent and address secondary traumatic stress (STS).
