Special Topics:
Sponsor: STARS
Instructor: Nikki Bearor

Are you new to the ECERS-3? Have you been using it for a while, but still have questions about certain items in the scale? In this weekly training, we will break down the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale, Third Edition, and discuss one item per week. Our presenter will spend 30 minutes explaining the item of the week leaving the last 15 minutes for questions. Participants can sign up for all sessions, or register for individual sessions based on information needed. This session will cover Item 14: Staff Use of Books with Children. Books can be an important tool in building vocabulary and introducing new thoughts and concepts to young children. In this session we’ll explore some ways that staff can engage children in book usage to build vocabulary and to introduce new ideas.
