Stress, Burnout and Self-care for Early Childhood Educators Deb Norris

In this training participants will: learn about the connections and distinctions between stress, burnout, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue and the critical importance of self-care. We will share how these issues affect professional relationships; review tools for identifying signs of burnout; discuss the importance of modeling good physical and emotional health for children; collaborate with colleagues to identify supports and challenges to self-care, including cultural considerations; practice self-care techniques; create a plan for self-care; expand the concept of self-care into “developing caring communities"; and explore ways to engage families in self-care and caring community practices. This training counts as Advanced Specialized Care training hours.
