The ITERS-3 and Playtime with Infants and Toddlers: Activities that Promote Active Learning November 13, 2020
When caregivers interact with infants and toddlers through engaging activities, everyone has fun! From simple routines to planned happenings, the entire day is playtime, and this offers infants and toddlers vital opportunities to promote learning. This workshop explores ideas that enhance the use of books, toys, interactive displays, and classic chants and rhymes, so that your days with little ones are filled with laughter and learning adventures. You will learn how to make books come alive, use your walls as learning tools, make some simple, safe toys, and blend music and mirth into your day. Handouts will be sent ahead of time, so you can get started on your own ‘Full of Fun File.’

This is a three-part, interactive workshop: -The first session will be an overview of the ITERS-3 with a focus on providing activities and learning opportunities throughout the day (1.5 hours); -For the second session, you will spend time on your own planning and implementing an interactive display in your room, and taking a photo to share with the group (1 hour); -For the third session, participants will share their projects/displays, and we’ll have time for questions and discussions (1.5 hours). A copy of the ITERS-3 (available at Amazon or Teachers College Press) is recommended for this training. A Zoom link will be sent in advance of the training date.
