You Belong Here- Understanding Your Personal Biases and Privileges as Tools and Opportunities to Create Relationships and Environments Rooted in Belonging and Allyship Brendan Rooney

Sponsor: Red Clover Children's Center
Instructor: Tessa Dearborn

In this 3 part training, professionals will honestly and compassionately get to know their personal biases and privileges so they can use them to create belonging and allyship in their work with children and families.

Part one of this training will be an inward look at what biases and privileges we hold and how these influence the way we interact with the world around us. We will pause and wonder how these two aspects of who we are can be tools and opportunities to better serve the children and families.

Part two will be asynchronous work located in Google Classrooms. Participants will be asked to spend 2 hours on this work to count for additional 2 hours of PD.

Part three will be reflection and a plan forward. We will identify how to use our privilege and biases as tools to create belonging and how we show up as allies for the children and families we serve. Concrete examples and resources will be available so that participants walk away feeling capable and confident in creating relationships and environments rooted in belonging and allyship.
