You Can’t Come to my Birthday Party: Navigating Friendship July 22, 2022
Workshop Topic Description: Friendship is often underrated, considering the tremendous impact on our well- being. Early childhood friendship is frequently overlooked as a positive developmental influence. We don’t always realize how attached young children are to their friends. In this workshop, participants will learn about the importance of developing friendships and exploring ways to encourage positive friendship relationships in their classroom setting. During this workshop participants will: - Identify the qualities and traits that enable friendship connections. - Explore the importance of friendship during the early years of child development. - Discover ways to facilitate and guide young children while they navigate friendships.
PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING TICKETS: The workshop is designed for participants to form a sense of community. This can only happen when attendees are open to sharing their experiences, reflections, and ideas. Many organizations provide professional development for early childhood educators. Suppose you are seeking professional development only to obtain a certificate for credit hours. In that case, this workshop may not be the right fit. Workshop attendees are asked to be active participants throughout the entire session. This involves having your camera on for at least part of the session, taking an active role in small group conversations, and being fully present during the entire session. Please note: Ticket purchases are non-refundable. A refund and/or credit is NOT given for missed workshops. All virtual workshops are taught in a live format in the Eastern Time Zone (EDT). They will not be recorded. Each person participating (viewing) the workshop needs to purchase a ticket. Prior to the workshop session you will receive information on how to request and obtain a professional development certificate.
